Verdict
The handicapper may have been harsh in handing TAAZUR a rating of 81 after he finished second in a nursery at Goodwood in August but the colt is a consistent type (despite being dropped 4lb) and, as he now reverts to maiden company, he sets a good standard for the rest to aim at this afternoon. Midnight Fantasy is starting to get the hang of things and will be a threat if he continues to progress, while Merry Diva ran promisingly at Windsor 22 days ago. She rates as a worthy contender for each-way punters to consider. Most of the newcomers appear to be bred to get a deal further than six furlongs, so a watching brief is advised with the likes of Valid Point and Fat Chance, who may need more time. Therefore, experience is taken as the major factor - with Taazur beaming as the leading light on this occasion.
