In depth

Verdict

There is not really that much strength-in-depth here and it will be no surprise if Sagittate makes a belated winning debut at the main expense of Caribbean Man, My Fas and Activity. The Sheik Mohammed-owned Grand Lodge colt missed his juvenile campaign after splitting a pastern but has always been held in some regard by his trainer David Loder. The Newmarket-based handler has done well with horses of this type of late and this looks to be the ideal opportunity for the colt to start rewarding the faith shown in him by keeping him in training. Caribbean Man shaped well enough on his debut to suggest there are races to be won with him, and it is hard to see him finishing out of the frame on that evidence. My Fas may be hard to place off his current rating outside maiden company, but has come up against some useful looking rivals. However, he dropped out tamely last time and may be one to watch for now. Activity is another Loder runner who has been patiently brought along since his debut, but looks to be the stable's second string.
