      In depth

      Verdict

This look quite competitive for a low-grade handicap. Funny Man showed improvement stepped up to 1m4f at Brighton and Thomas Cubitt had Victoriano behind over the trip at Redcar, though didn’t follow up that effort at Beverley. BATTLE OF PEMBROKE is 7lb better off than when fourth to Victoriano at Redcar. He’ll strip fitter today and is reunited with Jamie Spencer so is fancied to reverse the form and record a first victory, though Lock Seventeen is a danger having broken his maiden over the trip at Bath. No Thanks may be best of the rest.
