In depth

Verdict

Hits Only Life appreciated the huge drop in class when running away with a banded stakes race at Southwell last time and could be of interest on his handicap debut off a mark of 53 in a race where dangers are thin on the ground with Glendening and Perfect Order looking the pick of them. The selection is difficult to weigh up having been well held in better grade prior to his recent success but at least comes here fit and in form which is more than can be said of most of his opponents. Malech has been given a chance by the handicapper and along with Mark Johnston's Winds Of Change, who makes his debut in this grade, has to be respected. Gragganmore Creek and Madame Constanze have both been given breaks since disappointing on their most recent starts, while Oasis Sun has shown signs of ability of late but needs to improve. Glendening is well enough treated if fit enough for his return, while Perfect Order has slipped to a fair mark but Hits Only Life comes here in form and he gets the vote.
