Verdict
Not The strongest of handicaps that may fall to Answered Promise, with Welcome Stranger and Borrego put forward as the main rivals. Ian Wood's bottom-weight was having his first race on the turf for quite a while when putting in a sterling effort to finish third behind Wind Chime at Warwick ten days ago. The outing will have done him the world of good he can strike before the handicapper gets a grip. Borrego ran no sort of race at Sandown last time but is much better judged on his previous outing when finishing runner-up to Yorkshire Blue at Doncaster. Welcome Stranger's form figures belie the fact that he has finished close up in some very competitive handicaps this season and he will be a major threat to all. Just eight go to post but it is a very tricky event where Answered Promise can make the most of his feather-weight.
