Verdict

Not the strongest maiden to have ever been staged at Yarmouth and Thunder Rock, Estrelle and Ballygally Boy look the trio to concentrate on, with Thunder Rock edging preference on this occasion. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old made an encouraging start when he finished a close up third at Sandown on his debut (Barabinka already has something to find from that run.) The son of King's Best has bags of scope for improvement and this half-brother to Dazzling Park looks a step ahead of the rest at present. Estrelle wore bandages in front on her debut but it did not stop her staying on in eye-catching fashion near the finish. She looks the obvious one for the forecast with the step up trip expected to suit. Silent Jo sports blinkers for the first time and is on a retrieval mission after failing to trouble the judge in each of his previous starts this term. Ballygally Boy is an improving type that should give a good account of himself. However, he already looks as if he needs a distance of ground to be seen at his best and may be better off in handicaps. Therefore, with all things considered, the vote stays with Thunder Rock, as he looks the most solid option at this stage.
