Verdict

A tightly-knit nursery to open a competitive day's racing. The standard is set by On The Hoof and Satanic Beat, fourth and fifth in a similarly competitive affair at the Ebor meeting. The latter didn't enjoy too much luck in running that day and can reverse placings, although he still has plenty on his plate at the head of the weights. Citizen's Charter and Ladykin also look to have enough weight for what they've achieved so far, so LADY LAYLA could be the one on the back of a decisive success in an ordinary Ayr maiden where she led throughout and quickened clear of her rivals. She is on a fair mark for this nursery bow. The consistent Fayr Fall and nicely treated Dicky Mint also enter the equation.
