Another large-field handicap with endless chances but DIABLO DANCER is a filly on the upgrade and with a handful of runs to her name is open to further progress. She travelled well through her last race at Carlise before quickening away and should deliver another good account from her lowly handicap perch. Rough Rock and Fishforcompliments finished 1-2 here last year but the latter makes more appeal at the revised weights this time round and is potentially well treated. Malcheek is unlikely to improve any more at his age but is another on a very tempting mark if putting his best foot forward, though the main threat has to be Blues Jazz. Hold-up tactics have delivered four straight successes for which an overall rise of 16lb seems fair. He may not have stopped improving yet and has to be on any short-list.
