Verdict

It will be a surprise if the three-year-olds don’t dominate this handicap. Ilaraab goes from strength-to-strength and is bidding for a five-timer. Spirit Dancer, running in only his second handicap, is on an upward curve and proven on the surface. Crystal Pegasus has suddenly clicked into gear with victories at Bath and Yarmouth but steps up in grade again and MATTHEW FLINDERS (NAP) looks worth sticking with. He doesn’t look straightforward and has only won over a mile so far but finished runner-up to a well-regarded colt over track and trip in July, despite losing a shoe on the way round, and is still heading in the right direction. Iconic Choice, who ground out a victory on soft going at Newmarket last week, and Johnny Drama may prove the pick of the older horses.
