In depth

Verdict

Sassie hasn’t pulled up any trees this year but won this 12 months ago when a pound higher. Eddystone Rock also needs to rediscover his best form but is another past course and winners while The Jam Man has only found one too good the last twice and is only a couple of pounds out of the handicap. Stonific is starting to slip down the weights but that is also the case with SOLO SAXOPHONE, who won on good to soft here in July when completing a hat-trick and has plenty of form on testing surfaces over hurdles. Hochfeld finished behind Speedo Boy when last running over this trip and is probably best over 1m6f.

Formwatch

Hochfeld (IRE) 12-1 (9-8) Led 2f, tracked leader until 6f out, handy 3rd, still every chance on rail 2f out, outpaced over 1f out, switched right and some late headway, 4th of 6, 2 1/4l behind Stargazer (9-4) at Haydock 1m 6f hcp (2) gd in Sep.
