        Verdict

        A fascinating contest featuring seven winners. Gatepost went into many notebooks after a smooth victory at Folkestone while Hamza made most and stayed on strongly at Musselburgh. He may have a battle up front with Alejandro, another who led virtually from the off on the same track. Cravat didn't have much to beat at Beverley but did it very nicely and Ponty Acclaim landed a little race at Ripon in very good style. MONNOYER was always in the firing line before storming clear at Wolverhampton and, as a half-brother to seven winners, should have enough pace to take this.
