Verdict

Parbold Hill and Trade Secret have shown some ability but neither sets an unattainable standard and so it is newcomer ELUSIVE SUE who is fancied to make a winning racecourse debut. Richard Fahey's daughter of Elusive Quality fetched $80,000 at the sales and is a half-sister to several sprint winners in the US. Her dam was a prolific winner and she is taken to follow in the family's footsteps. Fibs And Flannel sums up horseracing quite well and Tim Easterby's colt represents shrewd connections; if he is backed then it may pay to take note with his owner sponsoring the meeting. Cherry Bee made a good start to her racing career with a second place at Ripon behind Di Stefano; she wasn¿t particularly well-fancied on that occasion but ran well and the experience will not have been lost on her. Falasteen is related to several winners, including Mark Johnston's Opus Maximus, whilst Trade Secret's level of form is high and the return to five furlongs is unlikely to work against him. Parbold Hill will find this engagement easier than the Hilary Needler Trophy that she contested at Beverley last time, however we are prepared to take a punt on newcomer Elusive Sue.
