HARLESTONE SNAKE can maintain trainer John Dunlop's fine strike rate at the track, with Deuce and Saborido the others to look out for. Deuce had looked slow before benefitting from a step up in trip last time, staying on well having been headed, to finish a close second. Lightly raced, and open to further improvement, Deuce can play a part here as she looks progressive. Saborido was quite highly tried last season, running modestly, but had turned in some decent efforts before disappointing last time. Weakening in the closing stages that day, it is hard to understand why this grey colt is stepped up in trip. Harlestone Snake seems to be a stereotypical John Dunlop type, in that he is improving as he steps up in trip. He ran a career best last time, staying on well to be a good third and three furlongs further should suit. Harlestone Snake can wriggle free of his rivals.
