        Nottingham winner OH PURPLE REIGN just missed out at Chelmsford on his handicap debut. Rated 98 and returning to novice company, Richard Hannon’s colt can bring a frustrating run of placed efforts to an end despite carrying a penalty. No Mercy looks best of the others with racecourse experience but one of the newcomers may prove a bigger threat. Abstemious is a half-brother to a winning sprinter and Staxton Hill is related to three winners while Hello Baileys represents last year’s winning yard.
