Verdict
Brevity has a near legendary cruising speed and his prolific record speaks for itself. However, he was hammered by the handicapper last season and has struggled to get home off his current mark; he looks to be held by the assessor for the time being. Grey Cossack is an adaptable character and has already landed a brace of successes this season. His stable has a good record at this course and he has been dropped 1lb after finishing down the field at Newmarket last time. However, he is still 5lb higher than when he won at Pontefract in his previous outing and will need to record a career-best effort to land the seasonal hat-trick. Fantasy Believer has been far from disgraced in good company in his two outings since his reappearance and may benefit from the handicapper's judgement of his rivals. Zilch is also of interest on this return to sprinting and has to be on the shortlist after also being given a chance at the weights.
