Most of these ran in last month’s Goodwood Cup with runner-up Pallasator finishing ahead of Wicklow Brave and Quest For More with Suegioo and Curbyourenthusiasm well beaten. Sir Mark Prescott’s charge looks sure to make a bold bid on that form and Wicklow Brave could go well again representing last year’s winning yard. Clever Cookie was fourth in last season’s renewal and narrowly beat Curbyourenthusiasm in the Yorkshire Cup here in May. He’s had a short rest since running below par in the Ascot Gold Cup, a prize won in 2015 by TRIP TO PARIS. Ed Dunlop’s star hasn’t won since but competed in top international races for the remainder of last year and made an encouraging reappearance over too short a trip at Newbury last month. He’s taken to finish a lot closer than last year’s fifth and have his say in a wide-open renewal.
