Lumiere could hardly have been more impressive on her debut at Newmarket for which she started a short-priced favourite after some scorching homework. However, what she beat is another matter as almost all of those who finished behind have been well beaten subsequently. EASTON ANGEL has the form in the book and will be difficult to beat. She won the prestigious Hilary Needler at Beverley before close-up efforts in Group 2's at Ascot and Newmarket, the latter race where she was promoted after interference cost her a better position. Whether she would have beaten runner-up Besharah is conjecture and there should be little between the pair again. Ashadihan is also closely matched with the pair on a line through the unbeaten Illuminate, who finished just in front of her in the Albany Stakes. The remainder look as though they have some improving to do though it's by no means impossible for any of them to do so.
