Verdict
LAURENS (NAP) was back to her very best in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild over a mile at Deauville last month. A prolific winner at the highest level, Karl Burke’s filly is fancied to make light of both a penalty and the shorter trip in this company and go in again. Le Brivido will do well to confirm earlier superiority at Ascot with the selection while Cape Byron failed to fire in the Darley Cup at Newmarket last time but steps back up in distance. The soft ground turned against Sir Dancealot at Newbury a week ago but he beat Speak In Colours in the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood earlier and can figure while the veteran Gordon Lord Byron was still good enough to finish runner-up in this last year. Shine So Bright wasn’t disgraced at Newmarket in the 2000 Guineas when last in action and makes most appeal of the remainder, though he takes on older horses on his return.
