Pass The Vino beat Moss Gill over 6f at Newmarket earlier and went close over the same trip at Ascot a fortnight ago. Wedding Date beat Roulston Scar here back in May and the latter went on to score over 6f at Pontefract but RECON MISSION was beaten less than a length, despite finishing only fourth over the minimum trip in the Shergar Cup Dash at Ascot last time. Racing off the same mark today with a leading apprentice taking 3lb off his back, Tony Carroll’s sprinter may prove good enough. Amplify won a lower grade contest at Bath earlier in the week and is penalised while Que Amoro is another upped in class after scoring here and Lufricia has come up short in less competitive races recently.
