All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Sunday, July 2.
Jurgen Klopp will reportedly block Daniel Sturridge from leaving Liverpool because it will cost too much to replace him.
The Sunday Mirror say there is "massive interest" in the striker, but the "inflated transfer market" is proving a barrier to any sale.
Apparently Sturridge will now stay unless there is a "mammoth offer". Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham were two reported destinations for the 27-year-old.
The Mirror are also reporting that Liverpool will turn down loan approaches for Joe Gomez as Klopp runs the rule over the defender in pre-season.
Former Liverpool midfielder Craig Johnston has described Philippe Coutinho as an "absolute jewel in the crown"
"He's just perfection, there's nothing wrong with any of his make-up. He's as good as it gets in a football package [because of] his mentality as well," Johnston told the club website.
