Verdict
Only three of the eight runners for this one-mile conditions race for older horses have raced previously this term so fitness may be an advantage. Of the trio Ed Dunlop's Soviet Flash holds arguably the better form having finished sixth in the Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket a fortnight ago. The five-year-old should appreciate being dropped in class here. Inglenook ran some decent races without ever troubling the judge last season when racing, in the main, over further than a mile. The son of Cadeaux Genereux could be better suited by this trip, while Smirk did nothing but improve last term and if carrying on where he left of in 2001 could also go well first time up.
