Verdict

Scope comes out best at the weights having failed to land a blow in last month’s St Leger. But the dual novice winner MANDOOB (NAP) separated a couple of subsequent winners when runner-up to Yabir in a Group 3 at Newmarket last time and there looks plenty more to come from Brian Meehan’s charge. The progressive handicappers Chalk Stream and First Light look worth a try at this level having both won over 1m4f here while Classic Lord and stablemate Valley Forge represent last year’s winning yard though both have plenty to find on today’s terms.
