    Verdict

Alainmaar has only been beaten once, on his debut in August 2009, but this is first try at this level and he has been off the track for almost exactly a year. Verdant was a progressive sort last year and should improve for his comeback run at Newbury but this can go to SHAMALI. William Haggas' six-year-old has always looked likely to appreciate this step up in trip and his staying-on third in the Gordon Richards Stakes over 1m2f at Sandown probably prompted connections to take the plunge here. World Heritage would almost certainly prefer softer ground and the others look up against it on these terms.
