In depth

Verdict

Speed Company wears cheekpieces for the first time and has dropped to a fair mark but Frontispiece hasn’t had much help from the handicapper over the last 18 months. Nuits St Georges is probably better over further on soft going but did finish third over this trip in the November Handicap last year. Calling The Wind is another who needs a bit further and he also returns from a break, as does It's Good To Laugh, but Aced It won back on Turf at Doncaster. Camilla Poulton’s runner is preferred to He's A Keeper, who has done all his winning at Wolverhampton, but Group One Power shouldn’t be underestimated having been raised just 4lb for winning the Great Metropolitan at Epsom. Labeebb failed to land the odds behind He's A Keeper on his reappearance but will strip fitter today. He has form over the course and distance and is still improving but we will forgive LOUGANINI his comeback run at Pontefract. Despite being backed against a subsequent Group 3 winner, he was far too keen that day on unsuitably fast ground. Three of his rivals in that contest have gone on to win decent races and the other was just touched off on his next start.
