Verdict
Pettochside has been a great servant for the John Bridger yard and, despite thought better on ground with some give, won on good to firm here 10 days ago on his reappearance. That was over 5f, however, and some of his younger rivals may be more effective over this extra furlong. George Bowen is also in the veteran stage now but he’s not won on Turf in almost three years. HIGHLY SPRUNG boasts a solid strike-rate for a sprinter and is best over a stiff 6f. He got going too late at Pontefract 10 days ago but should be approaching peak fitness now and won off a 3lb higher mark at Newmarket last year. Little Boy Blue should run his race again and Louis Treize can’t get much lower in the weights. Triggered and the returning Eye Of The Water are also respected but Newcastle specialist Devil's Angel is 0-6 on Turf with Album, who is also best on the all-weather, having switched stables. Mount Mogan may be best of the rest.
