In depth

Verdict

Wesley Ward has won this a couple of times in recent years and runs two with both Foolish Humor and Karak making winning debuts on the Turf track at Belmont. Archie Watson sent out last year’s winner and runs four with Illusionist making most appeal after romping home at Bath but TEMPLE OF HEAVEN is preferred. The latter remains unbeaten after winning a conditions race at Newbury, despite losing a hind shoe, and is taken to confirm running with subsequent Beverly winner winner Dylan De Vega. Southern Hills represents Ballydoyle having been narrowly beaten in a maiden race at Navan and he is expected to reverse earlier running with Red Epaulette while the Godolphin colt Platinum Star won a maiden at Leicester and Christophe Soumillon takes over the reins. Iffraaz, Symbolize, Summer Sands and Rayong are all speedy types worthy of a second glance in the betting.
