Verdict

A nightmare for punters with no less than 30 standing their ground, and it is more in hope than optimism that Grizedale is selected to pop in ahead of Green Line and Master Robbie. The draw may once again play a major part here, and those who stuck with Funfair and co in Wednesday's Hunt Cup had their fingers well and truly burnt as the first four home were all drawn low. With that in mind, backers of the big gamble Patavellian, Highland Shot and Camberley must be worried as they have to do battle it out on the far rail. On the stands side, Grizedale is drawn six, the same box that Macadamia occupied on Wednesday and has been laid out for this by his astute stable. He is fully 10lb better off with Master Robbie despite holding him at Goodwood and is more or less on the same mark as when 14th in this contest 12 months ago when anchored by a high draw. Green Line has obvious credentials as well- a recent win, a low draw, Kieren Fallon in the plate, and the fact that Sir Michael Stoute would love to saddle a winner for the Queen. All in all it promises to be a right old cavalry charge, but we are happy to stick with Grizedale.
