In depth

Verdict

This has only been run three times but all three have been won by a fancied runner with a double-digit draw. In something of a lottery, it’s tempting to follow the market vibes and nominate Conquistador, who has just got in the race off the bottom rung and has been a revelation on the all-weather since failing to win in three runs on Turf last year. However, the Barrons have improved JER BATT out of all recognition since he arrived from Ireland. He was a bit unlucky against Danger Alert at Chester last month and is 3lb better off now. The third, Kerdos, looks held. Radio Goo Goo has been in cracking form but may struggle to defy a penalty in this company while Goodwood winner Frankness tackles the minimum for the first time. Tatterstall showed terrific speed at Epsom but may have been hamstrung by the draw.
