Verdict

FINTRY FLYER, whose previous six starts had been on Tapeta, reverted to Turf and gained a surprise victory over this course and distance where she appreciated the fast ground. She's up 5lb but this doesn't look much tougher. She's one of four from Jim Goldie's yard with Star Cracker also looking to have a fair chance after two recent narrow defeats though he keeps going up in the weights without winning. Berlios is 1-25 but returned from a long spell on the all-weather with a fair effort on soft ground at Nottingham and would be a threat if handling this going. Uncle Charlie scored over this trip at Thirsk a year ago and made a pleasing returning over 7f at Catterick in April while, at the other end of the handicap, Guiding Star ran quite well here last time and has dropped to a very lowly mark. It's just over a year since Vallarta won a race but he's on a 12lb lower mark so has to be considered.
