Verdict

SIR CHAUVELIN just failed to catch the winner in a Class 2 handicap over track and trip last time. Jim Goldie's charge can open his account if handling today's softer going. Battleranger has yet to encounter soft ground either and steps up from 6f but Fortuna Glas showed improvement over today's trip when third at Hamilton and should figure. Mon Gris is related to winners in France and fellow newcomer Woofie is a half-brother to a winner on the all-weather.
