Verdict

CHARGING THUNDER was set a stiff task at Royal Ascot on his return from a lay-off. But David O’Meara’s charge won this race last season before scoring again off today’s mark at Newmarket and is fancied to go close. Alpine Stroll has returned a beaten favourite over 1m6f the last twice now and the same comment applies to La Pulga. Both the latter and Geremia won over today’s distance at Hamilton earlier in season while Ravenscraig Castle went close over 1m3f at Carlisle and additional headgear is applied.
