Verdict

Brain Power won a Grade 2 at Cheltenham in December but was pulled up when running in the Champion Hurdle, in which stablemate Verdana Blue was fifth, and there has only been one winner of this aged older than seven in the last 10 years. The returning Caius Marcius looks too high in the weights but Dino Velvet has returned to form in lesser company lately and won at this meeting last year. Malaya overcame a significant error at the second-last to win at Ascot five weeks ago but she was beaten fair and square by REDICEAN the last time she raced on going this quick. Alan King’s five-year-old has been keeping fit on the all-weather since failing to give Pearl Of The West 15lb at Cheltenham in October and can get his head back in front. Anemoi is unexposed but was only third off this mark at Taunton so more is needed.
