In depth

Verdict

Four-year-olds have won the last three renewals and no six-year-old has been successful in 10 years. Portstorm started favourite at Carlisle last month but hung under pressure and was well beaten. O CONNELL STREET was also market leader at Market Rasen but pulled hard and ran green. He will have learned plenty from that and can recoup losses, though a market check is required for No Regrets, who hails from a yard with an impressive strike-rate in bumpers here. He is by Presenting and the first foal to race of a winning hurdler. Last-time winners Mam Trasna and Sheshoon Sonny carry penalties but can’t be ignored with Guy and Sunny Express also representing powerful NH yards south of the border.
