In this handicap, Sanchi gets the vote ahead of El Coto and Krugerrand. Sanchi looked to be a very well-handicapped horse when scooting home at Southwell eight days in a course-record time and, even under his penalty, looks a major player today. With the handicapper failing to relent with Langford, El Coto, who has dropped to a reasonable mark now and who would hold a very good chance based on his May 2005 winning form, could give the selection something to think about, along with course and distance winner Artistic Style, who has dropped to below a winning mark, although he does like to get his toe in, and Krugerrand, who tends to win in his turn and he is certainly on a competitive mark in bidding to do just that. Another to be on a good mark now is Go Tech, so he has to be given some thought and, finally, Dream Fantasy, who was a useful juvenile in 2005, would have to be considered if fitness and sharpness could be guaranteed first-time up this season but, overall, for today, we will stick with Sanchi.
