    Verdict

Jewelled Dagger is a winner without a penalty having landed an apprentice race here a week ago. He should be thereabouts again despite today's shorter trip, but the vote goes to FOCAIL MAITH. He makes a quick reappearance after finishing second at Newmarket on Friday and finally looks set to take advantage of a slide down the weights. Grand Diamond has claims on his placed efforts in better company but is not the most consistent, while today's longer trip could prove a problem for Hits Only Jude and recent Hamilton third Royal Straight could prove a bigger threat.
