Verdict
Thirsk winner Tagula Blue looked unlucky at Haydock last time and is taken to recoup losses here at the main expense of Well Connected and Manx Fizz. Jeremy Glover's gelding won with plenty in hand at Thirsk and was travelling better than anything else when badly hampered over a furlong out at Haydock. Unable to recover, the son of Tagula came home in fourth place behind Lauro and, off the same mark, he has obvious claims. Brian Smart's Well Connected showed improved form at Carlisle last time but may not reproduce the form on this flatter track and the consistent Manx Fizz holds more solid claims. Young Rooney has shown signs of a return to form recently and should go close but Tagula Blue has solid claims and is difficult to oppose.
