Verdict
Just the five runners and it will be a major surprise if Zariano cannot open his account with Chanteuse looking the best bet for the forecast. Sean Keightley's colt is no world-beater but looks different class to his rivals judged by juvenile form and a satisfactory return when fifth to subsequent Dante winner Magistretti in Newmarket's Fielden Stakes. This represents a huge drop in class for the son of Emperor Jones, who should win with the minimum of fuss. The opposition looks distinctly moderate but at least Chanteuse has shown a modicum of ability in a couple of Beverley maidens. The remainder make very limited appeal in a poor contest.
