Verdict
Souvenance showed plenty of promise on her Redcar debut but Sir Mark Prescott's filly is bred to really come into her own over middle distances and makes limited appeal at the likely odds, so a chance is taken with the newcomer Cote d'Argent, who gets the vote ahead of True Dream. The selection represents the stable of Mark Johnston whose juveniles normally improve with racing, but the son of Lujain is out of the top-class mare In The Groove and may well be good enough to win this first time out. Howard Johnson saddles two with jockey bookings suggesting that the Mull of Kintyre colt Riverhill is preferred to Gettysburg of his pair, while Jack Attack needs to improve on the form shown on his debut at Newcastle to trouble the judge. King's Fantasy was well held at Lingfield first time out but should strip fitter for the run although a bigger threat is likely to come from True Dream. Mick Channon's colt has shown ability in both starts so far and is entitled to plenty of respect, but Cote d'Argent takes the eye on breeding and gets the vote.
