In depth

Verdict

Tartan Snow seems to have finally got the hang of jumping fences, ploughing through the mud to beat subsequent winner Euro American at Carlisle earlier this month. Stuart Coltherd's 11-year-old is 8lb higher but still rates a danger to SHERIFF HALL. It took George Charlton's gelding five attempts to get off the mark over hurdles at Musselburgh in November, but he followed that up with a good fourth in better company here last month and looks the type to do well over the larger obstacles. Earl Grez invariably finds at least one too good and needs some help from then handicapper and none of the others have shown enough to suggest they can play a part here.
