In depth

Verdict

George Bowen, once rated 107, was racing in better company for most of last season and on his latest start at Newmarket where he wasn't beaten far and didn't get the run of the race. However, BIELSA won on his racecourse debut and on his next two starts after a break. He performed well in top handicaps last autumn and can make a successful reappearance. Glory Fighter won three times last season, all at Class 4 level, while Commanche Falls has a similar profile though he completed a Haydock double in September with a victory in this grade. Cold Stare is only 1lb higher than when landing a Class 2 handicap at Goodwood in August though appears to need give in the ground and was well beaten at Haydock on Saturday.
