Verdict
A tricky looking finale but the vote goes to Xanadu, who may be worth chancing from his high draw to get the better of Playful Dane, Flying Tackle and Pips Magic, who all finished in front of the selection at Newcastle earlier in the month. Badly drawn there, Linda Perratt's gelding has since won at Hamilton and finished a respectable second to Tuscan Flyer over the minimum trip at Musselburgh. The return to six furlongs should suit and, with a high draw normally favoured here, he looks the safest bet. Playful Dane and Flying Tackle are closely matched on recent form and should again be thereabouts. Pips Magic is capable of taking a hand but is difficult to catch right and would not want any further rain, while Quiet Times is better on the all-weather and may just need the outing having had only one start since April. College Maid showed improved form last time and is another to consider although a low draw may prove to be against her. There are no such problems for Xanadu though, who gets the vote.
