Verdict
Lauro took advantage of a lenient turf handicap mark when winning at Haydock in June and, although 5lbs higher now, is taken to win again at the main expense of Hula Ballew and Bandos. The last mentioned, a dual course winner, seems to be too high in the weights now while Hula Ballew has struggled in two starts off his new mark since winning at Carlisle last month. Gerard Butler's Compton Eclipse and the improving Skiddaw Jones are others worthy of a mention but we are happy to side with Julie Camacho's Lauro, who followed her Haydock win with a creditable second back on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. That was the first time that the daughter of Mukaddamah had raced in two months so there should be further improvement to come.
