Verdict
Luca Cumani saddled a double at this venue yesterday and the Italian has strong claims of adding to the tally with Dileer, who can open his account at the chief expense of Ocean Victory and Suzuka. The selection showed respectable form in all three starts in maiden company for Mick Channon last term and appears to have a race of this nature within his compass after a promising effort on his seasonal return earlier this month. The son of Barathea finished a creditable sixth, beaten three lengths, behind Researched in a valuable handicap over this trip at York and a reproduction should suffice at this level. Ocean Victory was weak in the market before his Newbury debut this month but shaped with plenty of ability, putting in his best work at the finish to give the impression that the step up in trip will suit ideally. Suzuka should improve on his sole start to date but looked one-paced when a distant second in a weak affair over this trip at Redcar while the form was further devalued with the winner running poorly next time.
