Verdict
Another low-grade handicap featuring some moderate animals but Shava has solid credentials and gets a narrow vote ahead of Libre, Manx Fizz and Precious Mystery. The William Haggas-trained selection showed fair form as a juvenile and made a winning reappearance on his handicap debut at Newcastle earlier in the month. The son of Atraf stayed on strongly to lead close home over seven furlongs and the step up to a mile should suit this lightly raced type who can defy a 3lb rise in the hands of Paul Hanagan. Libre confirmed the promise of previous placed efforts when scoring at his venue yesterday but a 6lb penalty will make life tougher while the similarly penalised Manx Fizz also faces a stiff task having had nothing to spare when scoring over this trip at Musselburgh last week. Precious Mystery was beaten by the draw last time and has place claims but Jalouhar appears to have gone off the boil after a couple of placed efforts earlier in the campaign.
