Perhaps not as competitive a sprint as the size of the field would otherwise imply and the vote goes to Sundried Tomato while Noble Nick, Extinguisher and Oases rate the main dangers. The selection has proved a model of consistency this term and gained a richly deserved success when displaying a most willing attitude to land a valuable event at Ripon last month. The son of Lugana Beach has continued to run creditably in defeat since and was far from disgraced when beaten two lengths in a highly competitive Goodwood handicap last week. This represents a drop in grade and Peter Hiatt's charge should prove hard to keep out of the frame from a favourable high draw next to the stands' rail. Oases comes here in good heart following a convincing win at Hamilton last time so has to be respected despite a subsequent 6lb rise while Noble Nick shaped well on his recent return and remains on an attractive mark so should give another good account. The latter's stable mate, Extinguisher, has also tumbled down the weights and showed signs of an imminent return to form at Kempton last time so is another for the short list. Pips Magic is on a long losing sequence but represents a bang in-form yard and is thrown in on his old form so shouldn't be far away while Cd Flyer has been knocking on the door of late but has a low draw to overcome.
