Royal Straight is sure to be popular with the locals as Linda Perratt's seven-year-old battled on doggedly to win over C&D earlier this month. The handicapper finally seems to be relenting in relation to Sound Advice and though Keith Dalgleish's gelding can be competitive off his revised mark, he may have to give best to FOURTH GENERATION. Alan Swinbank's gelding was not assisted by the rider getting his whip tangled in the reins on his last visit to the track, but he shouldn't be inconvenienced by the drop in trip and he seems capable of showing his form on a variety of surfaces. The Tiger sunk an odds-on hotpot in a Ripon maiden and as he was giving away 9lb to that rival; a mark of 79 is fair under the circumstances. Killarney maiden winner, Charpoy, makes a third appearance for Ian Semple. At longer odds, Staff Sergeant could be a player if he is allowed the luxury of a soft lead.
