In depth
Verdict
Precious Bane comes into this in good form following his win at Chepstow over three miles last month but is far from certain to stay today's longer trip and, off today's higher mark, he looks worth taking on which we do with Admiral Peary who is preferred to Chabrimal Minster. The last mentioned has claims on the pick of his form but disappointed when stepped up to this trip at Sedgefield last time and may now be best watched. Sir Frosty has failed to complete in two starts this season and is hard to recommend and of more interest may be Lost In Normandy, who has a nice racing weight but has yet to prove his effectiveness over this trip. Tom George's Calvic lost little in defeat behind the in-form Dunbrody Millar at Plumpton last time and he makes more appeal than Michael Scudamore's Finzi, who has more to do off a 6lb higher mark than winning at Warwick last time. Admiral Peary has been a model of consistency of late though and remains feasibly well treated so Charlie Egerton's gelding gets the vote.
