In depth
Verdict
Jockey bookings suggest that the former Henrietta Knight inmate Foly Pleasant is preferred to Silence Reigns but more solid claims are held by Telemoss, who gets the vote. The selection has not been seen since being pulled up behind Inglis Drever in the West Yorkshire Hurdle last year but had some decent form both over fences and hurdles prior to that and, assuming that he retains some of his old ability, the Nicky Richards-trained gelding should be too classy for his rivals. David Easterby's Spring Margot unseated his rider in a recent start between the flags but is better than he showed that day and has to be respected as at least that recent run should bring him on. Ivanoph has ability but may just need the outing, while Gielgud has along absence to overcome and may be best watched. Foly Pleasant and Silence Reigns have to be respected but preference is for Telemoss, who should be too classy for his rivals.
