In depth

Verdict

Tigers Lair is likely to be at short odds for this novices' hurdle and should be too good for his rivals of whom Dominican Monk and Red Dahlia look the pick. The selection has shown a decent level of form since being put over hurdles and the son of Accordian should be up to the task of defying his penalty on his return following a three-month break. Hereford winner Dominican Monk has the benefit of a recent outing but his form does not match that of the selection. Colin Tinkler's gelding does though rate a bigger threat than Mark Pitman's Red Dahlia who is beginning to look exposed. Smith's Tribe has shown signs of ability and is worthy of a mention along with Sue Smith's Ding Dong Belle and Miss Muscat from the in-form stable of Evan Williams. However, Tigers Lair is the clear form pick and should take all of the beating.
