Martin Pipe's French import Boldini was challenging the leader when falling two out on his hurdling debut at Fontwell recently and on that showing has to be respected but narrow preference is for Wilfred, with Prairie Sun rated the best of the remainder. The selection showed promise from limited opportunities on the level and has shown enough in two starts over hurdles to suggest that a race of this nature would be well within his compass. Jonjo O'Neill's stable continues in fine form and Wilfred is taken to give him and Tony McCoy another winner. Gary Moore's Blaise Wood looked held Boldini before the latter's fall at Fontwell and of more interest may be Prairie Sun. Nerys Dutfield's filly lost no caste in defeat behind Siegfrieds Night on her hurdling debut at Cartmel and has run well on the flat since. The Philip Hobbs-trained Olimpo has given little sign of encouragement so far and with Wood Lord looking the clear Pipe second string this should go to Wilfred.
